Many drivers often half-depress the clutch when turning or decelerating. Some people put their feet on the clutch pedal after shifting gears. In some vehicles, the free stroke adjustment is too large, causing the clutch to disengage and not in a semi-engaged or semi-disengaged state. This state will cause sliding friction between the friction plate and the flywheel, which will generate a large amount of heat to be transferred to the clutch release bearing. When the bearing is heated to a certain temperature, the grease melts or dilutes and flows, which further increases the temperature of the release bearing. When the temperature reaches a certain level, the release bearing will burn out.
The release bearing in clutch is lubricated with grease. In actual work, maintenance personnel often neglect the lubrication of the release bearing and do not add grease to the release bearing during installation, resulting in a lack of oil in the clutch release bearing. In the case of no lubrication or less lubrication, the wear amount of the release bearing is usually several to several tens of times that of the lubricated release bearing. As the wear increases, the temperature will increase greatly, and it is easier to damage the release bearing. Therefore, during the repair process, when installing the clutch, check the lubrication of the clutch release bearing, and add grease in time for maintenance.
According to requirements, the clearance between the clutch release bearing and the release lever is generally 2.5 mm. This reflects that the free stroke on the clutch pedal is 30-40 mm. If the free stroke is too small or there is no free stroke at all, the release lever and the release bearing will be in continuous engagement. According to the principle of fatigue failure, the longer the working time of the bearing, the more serious the damage. The more times the bearing is loaded, the more likely it is to cause fatigue failure. And the longer the working time, the higher the bearing temperature, and the easier it is to burn out, thereby reducing the service life of the release bearing.
Whether the separation fork is deformed and whether the return spring of the separation bearing is intact will have a great influence on the damage to the separation bearing. Uneven separation adjustment, deformation of the separation fork, and non-return of the separation bearing spring will cause the separation bearing to produce resistance when the clutch is working so that the clutch separation bearing is always in working condition. In this way, as the temperature is getting higher and higher, it is easy to burn the release bearing, thereby reducing its service life.
